Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are a fast and easy way to improve the texture of your skin. Whether you have acne, wrinkles, freckles or scars, chemical peels can help smooth out skin tone and provide a fresher look. Most clients today want excellent results in a short amount of time, and chemical peels can do just that. Often, chemical peel series are combined with microdermabrasion series; however, our highly-trained staff will guide you for what would be best-suited for your skin.
Chemical peels range from light to deep, with most falling in the light to medium range. Some of the most common types of chemical peels include:
- Salicylic Peel
- Glycolic Peel
- Lactic Peel
- TCA Peel
Your licensed aesthetician will determine which type of peel will produce the best results for your skin. View our chemical peels video to learn more about this process.
Am I a good candidate for a chemical peel?
Chemical peels work best on those clients with mild to moderate skin damage from sun exposure, aging, lifestyle choices such as smoking, and/or acne. If you would like a brighter, smoother and fresher complexion, without surgery and little or no downtime, then you are an excellent candidate for a chemical peel.
Is a chemical peel painful?
Most clients report a mild stinging or slight burning sensation that lasts for a very short amount of time, however, it really depends on the type of chemical used during the process. Due to the new crystal-free microdermabrasion fewer choose deep chemical peels, choosing instead combination packages to optimize their results.
How does a chemical peel work?
Chemical peels have the ability to dissolve the top layers of dull, leathery and sun-damaged skin, to reveal softer, smoother, newer skin that lies underneath. As we age, our skin cell turnover tends to slow down, leaving us with skin that simply does not have the youthful glow it once did. By exfoliating the old, dead skin on the skin's surface, you will bring forth younger skin and help promote collagen growth.
